Credits

Kylie has been selected to create and premiere original choreography in both New York City and the Midwest. Her work ranges from Contemporary dance to Classical ballet.

Previously, Ms. Fox has been selected to choreograph for New York City’s: “Dance Bloc Festival”, “The 30-30-30 Show”, and “Dixon Connect”. As well, in collaboration with Paallam Arts Dance Company and Srinidhi Raghavan, Kylie created a new work which represented the USA for the International Dance Synergy Festival, sponsored by Sujata Banerjee Dance Company.

In addition to working with professional dancers, Kylie has choreographed students and young adults for schools and community dance companies including: Iowa Dance Theater, The Pointe Academy, and Minnesota Dance Theatre.

“Mirrors: Repetition. Loop. Repeat.”

This piece explored mirroring as well as executing and “breaking” classical ballet lines, with complex musical phrasing used to create a pattern of creating either harmony or disjointedness within repetitive movement.

"Corps de ballet des jeunes: Classe C"

A soft and technical nod to the beauty of corps de ballet through complex formations, patterns, and cannons in compliment to various solos, duets, and trios.

A layered commentary on toxic masculinity with focus on the oppression/suppression of women and the present state of Black male identity post slavery.

“Of Faces and Masks"

10 minutes / 2 dancers / En Pointe and Bare Foot / Contemporary Ballet and Classical Indian Bharatanatyam fusion

Music: Collaborative original score including Carnatic Vocals and Violin, with spoken word by Srinidhi Raghavan

This was a  collaborative piece which explored finding pathways between classical Indian and Ballet dance style to create a fluid and cohesive union. The final stage work explored the roles women have in society, the bonds holding women together, and breaking free of societal pressures placed on women via inner strength and comradery.

*Commissioned for film festivals. Re-worked for Live Stage performance with additional Commissioned Theme: Strength, Equality, and Respect. (This piece was choreographed as a collaboration between Kylie Fox and Srinidhi Raghavan.)
