Instructor
Experience
Kylie has experience working with all levels of dancers, beginner to advanced. This has given Ms. Fox an adaptable and wide-ranging curriculum and a flexible approach to teaching. Her classrooms use positive re-enforcement, and focus on technique refinement and artistic expressiveness which is informed by Kylie’s education in athletic conditioning and bio-mechanics*. With this approach her students have been able to progress quickly through difficulties while gaining confidence.
Most recently Kylie has served as a faculty instructor for Minnesota Dance Theatre's Performing Arts Youth (Grades K-12) and Adult Open Class (18yr+) Divisions. Previously, she was a faculty teacher with Ballet des Enfants and was the Assistant Director for a city-wide community dance program (grades K-12) for Indianola Parks & Recreations (IA). Ms. Fox has also been a guest instructor for Ballet des Ameriques and Brooklyn Montessori Ballet School.
In addition to teaching classes, Kylie also leads dance workshops and intensives focusing on enhancing placement and strength while growing technical and artistic capabilities. Most recently, she ran a week-long Winter Dance Intensive program for The Pointe Academy (IA) and a single day Dance Workshop for The Change Dance Studios (IA).
*Ms Fox. was selected twice as a scholarship participant for Harkness Center for Dance Injuries (NYU/Langone): "Healthy Dancer Initiative", in conjunction with Mark Morris Dance Group, RIOULT, and Gibney Dance; received two years of private instruction in The Gyrotonic Method by Kayla Alleyne (PT Plus/City Center NYC); and studied Ballet with a Molecular Biology/Pre-Medicine Track at Indiana University.
